Roland Härdtner recorded for the CD „Solo Mallets“ original compostitions and Bach interpretations for marimba and vibraphone, which where part of his musical studies at the Robert-Schumann-Musikhochschule in Düsseldorf. Besides own arrangements of three Bach chorals, he arranged as a speciality the song „Wenn die Hexen weinen“ from the musical fairy-tale „Matteo und der Zauberwald“ by Dieter Huthmacher for his instruments. „Solo Mallets“ is a mainly quiet, meditative recording, which focuses solely on the unique tone of the marimba and the vibraphone.
